Credibility and Leadership

One of our leaders sent this to me.  It is good.  It echoes what I hear Bob say all the time.  Your Position does not mean anything.  People follow you when you are credible and produce fruit.  It doesn’t matter if you are leading worship, leading a corporate team, or leading others to Christ through your life. These question will help you think through if you are credible or not.  The questions come from John Maxwell.

  • Consistency: Are you the same person no matter who’s with you?
  • Choices: Do you make decisions based on how they benefit you or others?
  • Credit: Are you quick to recognize others for their efforts when you succeed?
  • Character: Do you work harder at your image or your integrity?
  • Credibility: Have you recognized that credibility is a victory, not a gift?
