Personal Retreat

I love being outdoors.  I love autumn. I love extended times of being alone. So tonight I am going camping.  All that I am taking with me is what can fit in my pack, plus my backpacker guitar which will be strapped onto my pack.

I am going to hike into the woods 2.5 miles and set up tent.  I will have all evening and morning to play in creation.  My wife is being extremely gracious to let me take a night away. I couldn’t be more excited.  For some camping is torture, but for me, it brings life.

Peace, I am out of here.

What do you do get alone with God?

  1. Did you have fun? It sounds like fun, but I know I wouldn’t last very long with the bugs. :)

  2. Dude that sounds amazing. Camping and worship go together like peanut butter and jelly. I love coming home with my guitar smelling like fire. Hope you had a great time.

  3. Laura: I had a blast. But I am pumped to sleep on a mattress tonight.

Adam: It is interesting, I thought I would play my guitar more than I did. Once I got 2.5 miles into the woods with nothing but nature around me, I just sat and soaked it in, it felt like to speak or do anything would be wasting it. Also, you weren’t allowed to have a campfire :( But I have been known to throw it down on the guitar at the campfire.
