Every 6-8 weeks the Pastors at NorthWood call recent vistitors to tell them about Base Camp, the introduction to our new member process. I’ve been making the the calls today. Here is one of the conversations.
Brent: Hello, My name is Brent Minter, I am one of the pastors at NorthWood. I know that you have visited us in the past. I was calling to see if you were still looking at NorthWood to be your Church home….
Visitor: [ quickly interrupting ] No. We just did not like the music at all. We really liked the preacher, but the music is just not what we are used to.
You cannot please everybody with the style of your Worship Service. As a worship leader, obey what God has told you to do, and don’t sweat the rest.

As for taking it personally….heck no! Your music is like honey my brother!
So apparently I suck at coding and music!!!!…….I knew it was broke. I fixed it immediately, but I do not know how to refresh the feed through feedburner. It eventually will ping again and fix, but I don’t know how to do it manually. If anybody knows how to refresh the feed in feedburner, let me know.
Hey! I wish I could hear your music everyday. You have so much talent, not only in leading and singing, but also writing lyrics and the music that goes with them. It’s mind boggling to me that people are not paying you to write songs for them…seriously. I love brother!
Dude…let it roll! You rock and I am not just saying that. There are not too many people in this world that lead in a church setting like you. You really do a great job picking songs and leading the songs. You are a Spirit driven man and it shows. Keep it up!

For the record, I am not taking it personally… But thanks for the kind words. I actually think it is funny. It brought some comic relief in the midst of 48 calls (no joke). I thought, “I wander if she knows I am the guy who does music.”

Yes, take it personally! Call me and I will tell you what I think about your music. When someone says they do not like the music, your reply should be, “Well, I don’t like you!” Now that’s a powermove!
