Theology from a 3 year old

Parenting is a team effort.  Especially when you are having a theological discussions with your 3 year old.

Kari tells the first part of the story on her blog. (You have to read it before the rest of the story makes sense.)

So I come in and say,

Brent: We can’t see Jesus, because Jesus is in heaven.

Avery: Heaven?  (very confused)

Brent: But one day he will come and we will get to see him.

Avery: How many days, 1, 2, or 5?

Brent: We are not sure, but one day he will come for us.

Avery: Why not today?

Brent: Kari, Your daughter has a question for you.

  1. You guys are funny. Oh the fun and great stories we get!

  2. I never got that reaction from my boys. They would just look and say, “Oh” and move on. Should I be worried?

  3. That made my day, I can’t wait for Maddie to start asking those questions. Sounds like she’s feeling better!

  4. Brent and Kari,

I am just really proud that I have a 3 year old granddaughter who is asking theological questions. You guys are doing a great job of telling her about Jesus. Keep up the good work!
    Love, Mom
