Reflecting and Dreaming

I am 29 and will turn 30 in just over a month.  Because of this and my normal year-end personal review process, lately I have been very reflective. Here are some of my thoughts.

When you are in your 20s, you are full of ideals.  You create a crystal clear picture of how the world should be. You look above and see all the mistakes in society and the church that those before you have made and are convinced you have the best ideas.

But then the kicker comes.  In your 30s, the responsibility of your ideals begin to set in, and people usually take one of two roads.  They work hard and have enough leverage because of age, networks, and experience to bring their ideals to fruition,  or they get lazy and exchange ideals for status-quo, apathy, and a pay check.

I am begging God for the grace to continue to push hard with the call he has put on my life.

Are you?

  1. Hitting 30 is like hitting a big black hole that you look at and say i didn’t know this was what this is like. You take a step and the hole just stays in front of you. You are right when you say you can either be lazy or keep on pushing…pushing aint easy…thats why we have JESUS :)
