Follow Your Heart?

I cannot count how many times I have been given the advice, “follow your heart.” I am sure you have too.

Here is what the bible says about your heart.

Gen 6:5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen 8:21 ….for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth…..

Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.

We don’t need to follow our hearts.  We need to follow the Lord speaking to us through the Scripture and the Holy Spirit.

Yes God can and does redeem sinful hearts.  But if you think that heart does not have evil in it, you need to get in touch with you depravity.

My heart is dirty.
