I just bought the Sovereign Grace CD “Together for the Gospel – Live.”  It is incredible.  The recording is hymns, and other doctrinally rich songs, with only a piano and a room full of voices.  The truth of the songs mixed with the voices of the saints have stirred my heart with overwhelming affections for our God.

I have had multiple people ask me about some songs that we have been doing lately.  November is our month that we lead people to give and go to missions. This year we have used a couple songs off of Billy and Cindy Foote’s Album “Go to Everyone.” You can get it on iTunes.

The Songs we have uses are “Go to Everyone” and “There’s More Room.” I also love “Die the Death.”It is not a great corporate song, but it is a great personal medidation song.

Today I saw my very first ESV Study Bible.  Unfortunately it is not mine. My friend who was more excited than I was went to the local Christian Bookstore and sucked up until they let him buy it the day before the actual release date (Tomorrow, Oct 16.)

I am a HUGE fan of the ESV translation, and now they have released this translation with study notes written by some incredibly smart people who love God.

Go check out all that the ESV Study Bible has in it at their site.

I can’t really justify spending the money on it right now because I have more Bibles than I can shake a stick at, but it is #1 on the Christmas list!!

I love extended times of being alone. So tonight I am going camping.  All that I am taking with me is what can fit in my pack, plus my backpacker guitar which will be strapped onto my pack.

I am going to hike into the woods 2.5 miles and set up tent.  I will have all evening and morning to play in creation.  My wife is being extremely gracious to let me take a night away. I couldn’t be more excited.  For some camping is torture, but for me, it brings life.

Last week I started waking up @ 5:30am for my personal worship.  I didn’t want to, but my girls were waking up earlier than usual and the only way to not miss my time with the Lord was to get up earlier.

Last Friday I stayed out unitl 2am with some old college buddies and then got up @ 6:45 with the girls.

Last Saturday I stayed up late to go to the Texas Rangers game.

I have no recollection of it, but this morning I got out of bed and turned off my alarm and went back to sleep.

My family as my witness, there is a direct correlation between my godliness and the amount of sleep I get.

Tonight I am going to bed by 9.

Is anybody else worthless when they are tired?
